Departmental overview

The department of Industrial and Systems Engineering is divided into the fields of Industrial Engineering, Operations Management and Quality.

The Department of Industrial Engineering is an internationally recognised department that engages in the highest quality teaching and research, benefiting our students, our Faculty, the Institution, the Western Cape and Southern Africa.

Our competitive advantage is that we have the infrastructure to engage in commercially viable industry related research projects.

We offer:

  •          accessible outreach and off-campus programmes
  •          relevant industry-related short courses
  •          programmes to assist industry with the Skills Development Act.

Professional Registration
The ND: Engineering: Industrial is accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Graduates will comply with the academic requirements for registration as a Professional Technician.
