We are excited to announce the 2010 conference details!

Theme: Sustaining South Africa's Global Competitiveness after 2010

Venue: Glenburn Lodge, Muldersdrift, Gauteng

Date: 6-8 October 2010

Conference Website: www.saiie.co.za/ocs

South Africa's Global Competitiveness is in the news daily. Thanks to the 2010 FIFA soccer world cup, South Africa invested in a number of large capital project developments, contributing to the economic activity in the engineering profession. However, what will happen after 2010? How will we ensure that South Africa remains competitive?

As in 2009, this conference will again allow for two submission tracks:

  • Academic Papers: Authors submit an abstract, and is then invited to submit a full-length paper. The paper will be peer-reviewed for final acceptance. The paper is published in the conference proceedings and on the conference website. This is the best option for academics and students who are expected to generate research outputs.
  • Applied Engineering: Presenters submit an abstract, and when the abstract is approved, the presenter is invited to present at the conference. No papers to be written, but the presenter is expected to provide the finale presentation for upload to the conference website archive afterwards. This is the best option for engineers from the industry who would like to share their experiences with other delegates.

Access the conference website to get more information, register or submit an abstract.
