Associate Member AMSAIIE A Candidate Engineer/ Technologist/ Technician working towards registration as well as practical experience;

A person who expresses a professional interest in IE and is desirous of subscribing to the objectives of the Institute

A person pursuing a course at a recognised tertiary education institution. Must be less than 30 years of age.

If subscribing in mass through a student branch, the membership fee is only R30 per student.

  2. When applying for an upgrade, a person shall apply with the required documentary proof attached to the member upgrade form for council approval.

To become a member, or to upgrade your membership:

  • Complete the form
  • Attached the required information

Application Process Notes:

  • Once you have submitted your application, the administration office need to acknowledge your application within 2 work-days.   • Membership applications are always reviewed at the next available council meeting for approval. It will thus take some time before your application is approved.
  • Do not transfer membership fees, until you receive an e-mail from our administrator, asking you to do so.
  • Once the membership is approved, you will receive an e-mail with further instructions, and membership payment can then be made.
  • You will then receive a login and password for this SAIIE website, giving you access to member-only information.
