2nd African Operations Management Conference: 4-6 June 2019

We are delighted to announce the 2nd International Conference on Operations Management organised by the Department of Operations Management at the University of South Africa. The conference will take place at Ticketpro Dome, North Riding, Johannesburg, South Africa from 4 – 6 June 2019. AOMC 2019 takes place in partnership with Africa Automation Fair 2019.

The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners from academia, government and industry to meet and share cutting-edge development in the field of operations management. We take great pleasure to invite you to submit full papers, extended abstracts or presentations by 28 February 2019 for research papers, work in progress and industry thought leadership presentations that are related to operations management.

REVIEW PROCESS
All competitive and work in process papers will be double blind peer reviewed by a specialist panel in the various disciplines as outlined in the topic section. Authors and presenters will receive detailed feedback as soon as possible.

Contributions covering the conference theme of “Competitive Operations Management for Driving Automation in Africa Forward" are invited. Conference proceedings will be made available at the conference, on a USB stick that will be included in the conference bag. The ISBN Number for AOMC 2019 is 978-1-77615-044-1. Best papers will be published in a special issue of a partnering accredited journal and some will be published in a peer reviewed Book for output points.

SUBMISSIONS
You are most welcome to send us your submissions for AOMC 2019.

For this conference, you can submit under one of three categories:

  • Full competitive paper
  • Work in process
  • Presentation only

Category I: Competitive paper

  • Full papers to be submitted by  28 January 2019.
  • Paper will undergo a double blind peer review and combined in the conference proceedings. The conference proceedings will be available in the conference bags at the start of AOMC 2019.
  • Paper to be published in electronic conference proceedings (final print-ready paper to be submitted by 2 May 2019). Copyright form also to be submitted on this date.
  • Delegate/s whose papers are accepted will receive slot on conference programme.
  • It is important that at least one of the authors register for the conference.
  • Good papers will be selected for publication to a DHET indexed journal and some will be published as a peer review book, meeting the criteria for output points.

Category II: Work in progress paper to be submitted

  • Work in progress papers to be submitted by 28 January 2019.
  • Paper will undergo a double blind peer review and combined in the conference proceedings.
  • Paper to be published in electronic conference proceedings (final print-ready paper to be submitted by 2 May 2019). Copyright form also to be submitted on this date.
  • Delegate/s whose papers are accepted will receive slot on conference programme.
  • It is important that at least one of the authors register for the conference.

Category III: Presentation only

  • Abstract to be reviewed by the Programme committee
  • Abstract to be submitted by 15 February 2019.
  • Final print-ready abstracts to be submitted by 2 May 2019.
  • Delegate receive slot on conference programme.
  • It is important that at least one of the authors / presenters register for the conference.
